Biography
Born in Zaragoza, Spain, Rosana Larraz is a visual artist whose work explores light, atmosphere, and memory through a visual language that merges abstraction and expressionism. Her background—holding a degree in Art History and a Master’s in Applied Linguistics—deeply informs her practice, complemented by a keen sensitivity to spatial design that shapes her unique approach to layout and environment. Drawing from her experience as a researcher in intercultural communication, Larraz approaches painting as a multifaceted, communicative phenomenon intertwined with society and cultural dialogue.
After living for several years in Basel, Switzerland, where the city’s vibrant art scene catalyzed her full commitment to painting, she established her permanent studio in Málaga in 2023, where she currently lives and works.
Larraz has built a prolific international trajectory, exhibiting her work across Spain, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. Her career includes milestones such as the 2025 Tartget Fusion Prize and selections in prestigious competitions like the Abstract Art Salon in Madrid. Composed of over a dozen exhibitions in 2025 alone, her consistent output reflects a mature, accelerating professional growth. Larraz seamlessly combines her studio practice with independent curatorial projects.
