The painting “Juegos de ángeles” (Angels’ Games) by Rosana Larraz, part of her series Lúmina, has been awarded the Fusion Tartget Prize by the jury of the international painting competition Tartget Prize, one of the most internationally diverse art awards in contemporary painting.
The work was presented and recognized during the official awards gala held on June 5th at the iconic Ateneo de Madrid, a historic cultural institution that regularly hosts major artistic and intellectual events in Spain. The ceremony brought together artists, curators, and professionals from the international art scene in a celebration of contemporary pictorial practice.

This edition of the competition received over 1,800 submissions from more than 85 countries, highlighting its global scope and the high level of artistic excellence among participants.
A special mention was given to the Fusion Tartget Award, a prize that recognizes innovation and the blending of artistic languages. Rosana Larraz’s work was described as “breaking with traditional narrative structures to propose an aesthetic of dissonance.”
The Fusion Target Award recognizes innovation in contemporary painting and highlights the fusion of artistic languages, particularly the dialogue between abstraction and the European pictorial tradition. Larraz’s work stands out for its exploration of light, atmosphere, and emotional density within this expanded pictorial field.
“Juegos de ángeles”, along with the works of the winners and selected finalists, will be featured in the Top 100 Tartget Prize exhibition, which opens at the Ateneo de Madrid and runs until June 14th.
The exhibition will later continue in July with a major presentation in Daimiel (La Mancha), further extending the international reach of the competition and its selected artists.
